• REGISTER for our MyOpenMath course by following these directions:

• We will use these notes on our first day of class.

3. POST-WORK: Intro to Exploring Functions

• Compare your answers to the IN-CLASS NOTES to this Desmos Graph.

• Graph these other interesting functions in Desmos:

  • f(x)=xe^x​

  • g(x)=tan(e^x)

  • h(x)=|x-1|/(x-1)

1. PRE-WORK: Sec. 2.1 Rates of Change Intro class.

• Fill out the pre-notes for our Rates of Change Intro class.

• To do so, watch:​

  • Sec. 2.1 Intuition for a Tangent Line video.  (5 min)

  • Sec. 2.1 Average Velocity Calculations video.  (13 min)

  • You may find this 1 min video helpful in evaluating s(t+h)​

• For question #5  go to this Desmos Demonstration.

2. IN-CLASS WORK: Sec. 2.1 Rates of Change Intro class.

• We will use these notes in class.

• We will access this Desmos Demonstration in class.

3. POST-WORK:  Sec. 2.1 Rates of Change Intro​ class.

• Work MML+ Sec. 2.1 Homework due by the beginning of week 2.

• At this point you should be able to answer these potential test questions.
